Overcoming Complex Trauma

Laura Bruco, MSW, offers a 12-week intensive therapy program to help you overcome complex trauma and build a solid foundation for lasting healing. It is often diagnosed in adults and young children who have experienced multiple traumatic events, such as:

  • Medical abuse
  • Parentification
  • Human trafficking
  • Sexual abuse or incest
  • Residing in a war zone
  • Enmeshment or engulfment trauma
  • Chronic neglect or abandonment
  • Ongoing physical or emotional abuse

Through our program, you’ll learn how to set and achieve realistic goals, manage difficult emotions, develop healthy relationships, and practice self-care techniques to help you regain your independence.

Our Process

Our 12-week program supports you through the entire healing process. It is divided into three groups or categories, with each focusing on a different aspect of healing:

Discovery Group

Every week, for 90 minutes, you will have the chance to explore how your goals and identity are connected to your experiences (and vice versa) to gain a deeper understanding of how they impact your life.

Experience Group

intensive outpatient group therapy allows you to try mindfulness, learn about new relationship patterns, and have more meaningful interactions—all in only 90 minutes a week.

Individual Psychotherapy

Every week, for one hour, you can test yourself and see how much progress you’ve made in a safe environment that is non-threatening and supportive.
