What Is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

If you are struggling with a mental health disorder, addiction, or other behavioral issues, you may benefit from an intensive outpatient therapy (IOP) program in Kirkland.

Laura Bruco’s IOP programs offer a higher level of care than traditional outpatient therapy but are less intensive than inpatient treatment. This makes them a good option for people who need more support than outpatient therapy alone but do not need 24/7 care.

During treatment, you’ll participate in individual and group therapy, as well as other activities designed to help you recover and heal. You will also work with your therapist in creating a strategy that will help you successfully transition back to your life outside of treatment.

What We Treat

Our 12-week intensive therapy program is adaptable and can benefit anybody looking to improve their life. Adults who have previously been diagnosed with any of the following are encouraged to participate:

  • Psychotic Disorders
  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Dissociative Disorders
  • Emotion Regulation Disorders
  • Personality Disorders
  • Substance Use Disorders

Our Process

To book an appointment, please complete our online form. You’ll be asked a few questions to determine if our program is the right fit for you. If it is, you will be enrolled right away in our 12-week intensive outpatient program.

Slots are limited in order to keep this a small group. You’ll immediately be placed on the waiting list for the next session and we’ll stay in touch with you about upcoming dates. Depending upon availability, we may be able to see you for individual therapy until then.

Therapy sessions are conducted in the evenings via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform to give way to participants with other commitments such as work and family. The program involves the following three main components:

  • Weekly Discovery Group: During this 90-minute weekly session, you’ll discover how to create an owner’s handbook for yourself and learn how to use abilities you didn’t know you had.
  • Weekly Experience Group: A 90-minute weekly group therapy in which you’ll put what you’ve learnt in the Discovery Group to use, learn more about your attachment style, and experiment with new relationships patterns.
  • Weekly Individual Psychotherapy: A 60-minute individual therapy session during which you’ll have a chance to discuss what has occurred for you this week and get assistance in your program objectives.

Once you’ve completed the program, our Kirkland trauma therapist will stay in touch to check your progress. You’re welcome to re-enroll in the program for continuous guided support and growth.

Why Choose Us?

As your trauma therapist in Kirkland, I, Laura Bruco, provide you with the support and guidance you need to work through trauma and develop healthy coping skills. My individual and group therapy sessions offer a safe and supportive environment where you can freely express your thoughts and feelings.

Unlike other Kirkland practices, I use an intensive brief dynamic approach focused on the present and the future. We will not be digging up past and painful experiences. Instead, participants learn more about themselves, create a framework for organizing their lives, and establish possibilities for future development.

I’d like to remind everyone that my practice is a safe space where everyone can participate regardless of gender, culture, or background. Sessions are held in complete privacy and with the participants’ consent.
